Are survey sites worth your time? I think so.

If you have the time, you can make a dime...

I began taking surveys online two years ago. I was lucky enough to learn right off the bat that the sites that ask you to answer pages of yes or no questions, or require you to sign up for a credit card or to pay for ANYTHING, are not the sites you want to mess with.

When I first started taking surveys I was somewhat skeptical. Some of the sites sound so great, then you wind up making no money nor points towards cash, just an endless barrage of survey invites in your e-mail.

Other sites look so archaic, like they just changed over from DOS, but don't be fooled some of these are the ones where you can make the most!

If you go in to this thinking you are going to make hundreds of dollars a month, then you are kidding yourself, but if you realize that this is a nice way to bring in a little cash, or some gift cards that make nice presents, then you're doing ok.

After much research and with time on my hands, these are the following sites I would suggest:

Mypoints.com

My points is not really a survey site per se. It is more of a site where you sign up, and accrue points by clicking on their advertisements at the bottom of each e-mail you receive. You also have other options for earning points, like buying online through their affiliations with stores like eBay, but doing so is not necessary to essentially earn free gift cards. About 4 times a year I make enough points by simply clicking on the "get points" button at the bottom of each of their e-mails to request a $50 gift card from all sorts of places. Like Abercrombie, Target, Old Navy, Macys, and a plethora of others. I get about 5-10 e-mails from My Points a day.

SurveySpot

This is an easy earning survey site. I make about $100 a year. It's pretty cut and dry, no surprises here. They keep a list of surveys you complete that you get paid for on your account. You have to have a minimum of $5.00 to request a check. There are a lot of surveys they send you that have no monetary value. After every survey, you get the choice of entering their sweepstakes, even if the survey is closed or completed. You do not have to take all of the surveys you are sent, but I like to think that the more I take, the more surveys requests I will receive, for pay. I get about five survey requests from this site daily.

Pinecone

All of the surveys from Pinecone are for money. However, it is a pretty tight knit community, you have to be invited to join, and you may have to wait for an opening in your area. Also, lime most surveys, you have to qualify for the survey, before you are eligible for the money. I like that the surveys are for money, not points, and I also like that they pay through paypal within a week or two. I only get about two surveys from Pinecone, a week.

Global Test Marketing

I have been with this site from the time I started taking surveys. This is another site where you accrue points that you cash in for a check. The site looks old, (they could really use a new website look), but it makes no difference. I consistently make about $100 a year from these folks, and I only get about five surveys a week.

Mysurvey.com

This is another cut and dry survey site. You receive survey requests via e-mail, if you complete the survey you receive points. You accrue points and you can use the points towards cash or towards other prizes. You need a 1000 points for $10. I think last year I made about $80.00 from this site. I get about five survey requests a week from My Survey.

When I collect cash or gift cards, I wait until October, then start requesting checks, or gift cards. This gives me enough time to cash in right before Christmas, when I can always use extra cash, and cards for gifts.

If you have extra time on your hands, surveys are an easy buck or two. If you have your sights set higher, then that's even better.

thnaks for this info have you tried

Cashcrate survey site

Hi! Thanks for the comment.

I have tried Cashcrate. In my opinion, this is another survey site that looks like a survey site, but then many of the survey offers you click on take you down the road to the offer of a gift card or some other prize if you just sign up with this credit card or that credit card, or something like that. I like the straight, cut and dry survey sites. Thanks again!
